The Wheat Genetics Resource Center community recently gathered to celebrate the retirement of John Raupp, honoring a remarkable career that spanned 45 years of dedicated service.

John’s retirement party was held on January 23, 2026, marking a milestone moment for colleagues and friends who have worked alongside him across decades. John began his career at Kansas State University at just 26 years old, building a professional legacy defined by steady growth, commitment, and expertise.

Over the course of his time at K-State, John held five positions, reflecting both his versatility and the trust placed in his work: Research Assistant, Research Associate, Scientist, Associate Scientist, and Senior Scientist. With each role, John contributed to the strength and continuity of the work being done, helping shape the organization through his long-term service.

As John steps into retirement, the WGRC community extends sincere gratitude for his decades of work and wishes him the very best in this next chapter.
