Dr. Rose is a Professor in the Departments of Food Science & Technology and Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is a founding member of the Nebraska Food for Health Center, a research center focusing on improving human health by linking agriculture and food production to wellness and disease prevention through gut microbiome research. Dr. Rose’s research focuses on: 1) determining how dietary compounds from grains and pulses can be used to modulate microbial metabolism in the gut and promote host health; and 2) developing messaging to help consumers make healthier food choices. Research from Dr. Rose and his collaborators has been published in more than 120 peer-reviewed articles that have been cited more than 4,500 times. He has received multiple awards from the Cereals & Grains Association and appeared on the Stanford/Elsevier List of Top 2% of Scientists in 2024. Dr. Rose also teaches Product Development, Food Chemistry, Sensory Evaluation, and Food Carbohydrates within the Department of Food Science & Technology, for which he has received multiple awards for teaching and advising from the University.Devin Rose
